Ida Mae
Sally's trademark character, Ida Mae, is a retiree who dabbles in various businesses and consulting opportunities.
As Ida Mae, Sally
will appear at your business or social event as a heretofore unknown guest and proceed to roast the management or guest of honor in her own inimitable style. The audience will at first be shocked by the audacity of this outspoken senior citizen and then be completely taken in by her wit. (Be assured that Ida Mae's quips are always tactful and in good taste!) Of course, Sally does her research first, and is truly gifted at finding the humor in any situation and incorporating it into her hilarious Ida Mae act.
Client's Kudos for Ida Mae:
- Jan Emler, President Emler Swim School, Inc
-
"...'Ida Mae' was the highest evaluated presenter of our entire National Swim School Association Spring Conference... Several participants have contacted our office about how much they enjoyed Ida Mae. One attendee said you were better than a massage. She felt less tension and more relaxed than she had for weeks!"
"... humor was teasing, but tactful... Ida Mae's motherly and quick-witted humor made it easy and safe to laugh at ourselves"
"We are definitely proposing to the new NSSA Board of Directors to hire you for our annual NSSA Conference next fall in Hawaii... Our jobs are too stressful not to do therapy with Ida Mae again!"
- David Beavers, National Marketing Director, National Safety Associates, Inc.
-
"We recently held our annual Fall Leadership conference... We brought Ms. Baskey in for the entire conference to mix, mingle and observe the people and their personalities. She sat through hours of sometimes tedious training and seminars and met with our top leadership, which include corporate executives as well as dozens of healthcare professionals."
"... by the end of the conference, attendees were sapped of both mental and emotional energy. But there was still a closing ceremony... Sally also attended this event, but as Ida Mae Fudpucker, motivator, speaker, and entertainer extraordinaire. She was a perfect closer. She not only re-capped every aspect of a very long three-day conference, but also discretely "roasted" the top leadership, sending off those who attended with enthusiasm, renewed vision and warm hearts toward one another. Sally made us a better more closely knit and effective team, because we both learned and laughed together. Her involvement was the best investment I have made in my sales team in 10 years. Everyone wants an encore from Ida Mae!"
- Joanie M. Schultz, Director, Human Resources, Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Inc.
-
"Sally Baskey has a rare talent to dig quickly and deeply into the soul of a company, then incorporate her findings into meaningful insights that enlighten and entertain. She grasps instantly what her clients need and want to communicate and presents that information in a memorable way."
"Her presentation style is light and witty but when called for Sally, as Ida Mae, can disarm her audience with her humor and drive home very difficult messages. We called Sally when we needed to deliver critical information regarding our company's reorganization; our employees left feeling good about themselves and the company."
"Sally is a talented and energetic performer who used her own corporate experience as a springboard to dive headfirst into our company culture and management styles. I am anxious for a repeat performance and will not hesitate to call on Sally for an encore."
- Stan Ivie, Deputy Director, FDIC
-
Dear Sally:
"The homework you did to customize your program to our needs was impressive. Your ability to take facts and information about our staff and incorporate them into your "Ida Mae Fudpucker" character brought a personal touch to the program, and everyone is still wondering how you knew so much about the individuals, and even more so, how you remembered all the small details."
"Thank you for the meaningful message you delivered with energy, fun and warmth. I hope we have the opportunity to invite you back for an encore performance."
- Paula Roman & Betsy Applebaum, Executive Director & Manager of Special Projects, CCCCD Foundation
-
Regarding Sally's role in CCCCD's 5th annual "Sky's the Limit!" women's conference:
"Our diverse audience of both professional and volunteer women ranged in age from their twenties through their sixties...not an easy crowd to capture"
"Sally was a delight to work with, from our first conversations with her up to the end of our formal business with her. Sally offered specific suggestions to help with our decision-making about our program topic."
"We were extremely fortunate to have discovered Sally Baskey's creative and professional talents! Her role was to interject humor into the day's program. Throughout the event, she mingled among the crowd as if she was just a regular attendee."
"Unbeknownst to anyone, Sally quickly disguised herself while being introduced as the last speaker that everyone was expecting. Instead of appearing as herself (as was advertised in the program agenda), she entered as one of her characters, Ida Mae. As planned, she totally disrupted the event and immediately generated loud laughter throughout the auditorium."
"Sally seemed to effortlessly share her quick wit and had the ability to repackage and recap the other speakers' points throughout the conference day so that participants could retain the day's content. This is a unique skill! ... Sally has mastered the art of ad-libbing after listening to the speakers for the first time that day, successfully fooling all participants about who she was, and leaving the audience roaring..."
"The reviews about Sally were extremely positive, including such comments as:"
- "(Ida)Sally was funny, funny, funny. I laughed 'til I cried"
- "Sally was a hoot!"
- "Invite Sally back. She was great!"
"Needless to say, we highly recommend Sally to anyone interested in injecting humor with substance to an event."
- Bob Jeffus, Vice President of a major Insurance Company
- "...She practically called everyone's name along with an interesting tale or story of something they had done. I sat in wonderment as to just who might this person be as she was calling my name (correctly, I might add) and told a story or two about me. I still could not determine who this person was as she seemed to not only know everyone by name, but she also knew so much about them. In any event, I did not let this mystery keep me from having an unbelievable time enjoying great humor that was also as wholesome as the day is long. ..."
- Skip Lefler, President CEO, Arlington National Bank
-
Dear Sally:
I just want to thank you again for the outstanding job you (and Ida Mae!) did for us at our Christmas party. Your presentation was a huge success and made it the best Christmas party ever for Arlington National Bank. Our employees are still wondering how you could remember all fifty of their names and something 'unique' about each one of them. We all had a great time laughing at ourselves, thanks to you!
We look forward to another surprise visit from you in the future.
- Mark E. Nicholls, ARCO
- "... These presentations were conducted in her character "Ida Mae", a comedic personality that utilizes humor to deal with sensitive situations in the workplace. In this capacity, Sally has been very effective in helping to establish an environment where difficult issues can be aired openly. Additionally, she has been instrumental in "humanizing" ARCO executives, thereby fostering communications between management and the employee population. ..."
- Mike Pfister, CIO Landmark Graphics
- "Count Landmark Graphics Corporation as one of Sally Baskey's satisfied customers!
Sally in her Ida Mae role, is capable of taking most any challenge a company may have, and introducing humor and fun to help teams break through previous barriers. She can be counted upon to quickly and accurately understand the issues and objectives, to create the appropriate role that needs to be played, and to pull off a hilariously entertaining and impactful skit or presentation. Her roles are capable of becoming institutions in organizations and might just help you to create the fun-loving, irreverent culture you want to introduce into your company."
- James D. Robertson, Vice President, ARCO
- "... Sally has spoken at many ARCO meetings including United Way rallies, retirement celebrations and town hall gatherings between employee groups and senior executives. Sally generally presents herself as Ida Mae, a character that she invented to use humor to convey important messages that employees remember. She is an eloquent and accomplished professional speaker on a wide range of subjects..."
- Pam Vaughn, Common Cares Inc. (Cancer Support Group)
- "As cancer survivors, we have two things in common. We share the trials of surviving cancer and the need to laugh. Ida Mae's performance at our Christmas event made us laugh and reminded us that the gift of laughter is a wonderful part of being ALIVE!"
- Michael E. Wiley, President & COO, ARCO
- "Dear Sally: ... Thanks to you, our event [executive roast] was a great success. ..."
